Maktab

Mon–Fri · 4:45pm – 6:45pm
Ages 4 and above

The Maktab is our foundational Islamic education class, welcoming children from the age of 4. The programme covers Qur'an recitation with Tajweed, Islamic Beliefs, Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Hadith, and Islamic History, giving children a comprehensive grounding in their faith.

Qur'an Recitation with Tajweed

Students learn to recite the Holy Qur'an with proper pronunciation and Tajweed rules. Emphasis is placed on correct articulation of Arabic letters and the application of recitation principles.

The Ar-Rahmah Syllabus

A structured curriculum covering Islamic Beliefs ('Aqeedah), Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ, and Islamic History — giving pupils a well-rounded foundation in Islamic knowledge.

Spiritual Development

Alongside academic study, we nurture good character and Islamic manners (Akhlaaq). Students are guided to embody the values of their faith in daily life, building a strong moral and spiritual foundation.

Hifz Programme

Qur'an Memorisation

Since its inception in 2004, Ar-Rahmah Academy has been running a Hifz programme — the memorisation of the Holy Qur'an using traditional teaching methods as espoused by classical Islamic scholars. The course requires a thorough knowledge of Naazirah (Qur'an reading) and correct Tajweed, both of which are taught in our Maktab programme.

The programme is taught in small class sizes by dedicated teachers, maintaining an Islamic environment throughout. Two parallel classes run simultaneously — one for boys and one for girls. As well as producing vessels that carry the Qur'an, Ar-Rahmah Academy aims to ensure that the hearts of its graduates are in unison with its teachings.
